Ok....
OK - Sounds like fun! I was thinking $hitty beer mainly because the High Life Lounge has a $hitty beer night. I believe they sell old-fashion grandpa beers in cans. Never been there that night. For those of you who don't about this bar, its the bar attached to the Bait Shop in Des Moines. The bar de...

Are you planning to serve $hitty Beer & food or is it the barn thats just $hitty?

Thats an awesome setup. So are you transplanting your hops to CR when you move? I hope you staked out a good place to grow them. My front yard is the only place that gets full Sun. However, my wife has not yet agreed to make it a hops habitat. Look forward to meeting you and sharing some beers. I d...

I have been growing hops about as long as you. I dry mine in my hop oast. I don't use heat. I dry them in the basement where its dehumidified and cool. I use a fan to blow air through the back of an old dresser and up and out the drawers. I takes about 3 days until they are dry, sometimes less. I li...

Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to make it there. The wife is taking the kid to see the parents for the weekend and that will free me up to get a lot of house repairs done w/o all the usual distractions. Have to get the house ready to put on the market. I think the CSP Brewers are going... I...

Orange Peel
I used a walmart brand. Tones Sweet Orange Peel. I bet Hyve would have it too. I made a really good clone of Hoegaarden with that stuff. The real zest thing is a good idea. I've considered using; grapefruit, orange, lemon & lime in wheat beer with a little toasted 2-row, and biscuit. Making it a...
