I went by Marion Iron today and picked up one of the full size kegs and the torpedo keg. Stainless goes for a buck a pound, so together it came to a total of $40. when I got it home I realized I probably also paid a buck a pound for some pretty rooten dried-up bear. Nasty stuff. The kegs are Firesto...

Sorry I missed it. Those Look good. Are they in a min frig? The stout looks very dark Did you use chocolate or special B? I did a 3 gal brown ale two Saturdays ago. I may have gone a little too dark for a brown because it is about the color of your stout. The OG was about 1.054. Twelve hours after I...

Thanks Randy!
By the way I have a vacuum sealer. I can bring it to the next tech meeting if any one wants to split their hops into smaller vacuum packs. They will stay fresher in freezer.

I am trying to experiment with saving yeast. More for the challenge. Like randy I am staying with 3 gal batches so if one get infected it's not a bank buster. It will be worth the experience. Ok, I may be stretching a bit for only have a few batches under my belt, but I washed the yeast from my last...

Randy,
I'd be in for the one of the $14 special packd. Seems like a good variety of hops the are called out in most recipies I have been looking to brew, and not a bad price.

Could feel the alcohol warming a bit, but strong was not referring to the flavor. Interesting note: Granite City should be called a Micro Fermentary as they...
