Re: Aug 27 - Independence BBQ and Brew

Sorry, guys, but I will not be bringing beer to this years Brew-B-Q. I want to walk around with my family and try everything. Can't wait to try everything, though!

Re: Kegs for sale

Sounds great, guys. I have a black Jetta. I'll try and park toward the west end of the lot, out of the way.

Kegs for sale

I have 11 corny kegs for sale. 4 have one broken handle, the other side works fine. In the picture, these have white tape on the broken handle. The other seven have fully intact handles. They all underwent a 12 hour PBW soak, rinse, Star San sanitizing, and are pressurized. All O rings are brand new...

Re: Independence Brew B Q

I've got two kegs ready. Key lime shandy called Key West Sunset and a raspberry chocolate porter called A Moment on the Lips. Do I need to enter these on the beer register page? I forgot how to do that.

Re: Hops Question

I have like a pound of CTZ I got last summer if you want some. One of the CRAZE brewers was handing it out. He bought way too much and handed me a big bag. I'll try a nice pale ale with it but don't need that much. Anybody welcome to it. I can put it in 1oz ziplock and bring to next meeting as well....

Re: Induction cooktops

The humidity for a five hour brew day seems minimal at best. The brewery gets warmer but not that noticeable. I thought I might have to vent but didn't want to cut a hole in the side of my house. I also thought about just having a vent hood and an angled pipe to drip the condensation into the sink b...

Brew pots for sale

Since my upgrade is complete, I have (2) brew pots for sale. One is a 7.75 pony keg , top cut off, lid, welded 1/2 coupling and ball valve included. Works great for full wort boils on a propane burner. The other is a 10 gal stainless, lid, 3/8 coupling, ball valve, and boil screen. It was Jim Fuller...

Re: Induction cooktops

Just finished my new indoor brewery, brewed a red lager two weeks ago and a kolsch last week. I use 2 Burton 220V induction burners. I use 2800 watts on the HLT to get the water heated, takes about 30 minutes to get 5 gal to 165deg. I use 2600 watts to get the boil going then keep it at a nice rolli...

Re: When do you find time to brew?

Matt, have you ever thought about induction burners? I am building my indoor brewery this winter and want to get two 3000 watt induction burners with a 220V outlet to run them. Seems clean, efficient, and easy to use...no drilling into the side of my kettles. Good article this past spring in BYO or ...
