I don't believe inch and a half is an odd size or to be more expensive than going with 1 or 2 inch tubing. My dad and I weld Oddball things in our shop so I'm just speaking from terms from our local metal supplier we have in town. Edit from original post - I think with the size of your Brew stand 1...
