Nevermind, I think I resolved my problem. Overcomplicated things and should have just checked the valves I bought. they appear to be check valves after some testing. should have thought of that first! :)

Check Valves

Anyone know of a place to get in-line check valves in Cedar Rapids area? I am needing some for my co2 line. I ordered a few online but got 3/16' on accident instead of 5/16" hoping to not have to wait another week to get my fridge complete. I really don't want to go without as I have heard horr...

Anyone had bad luck with the chrome plated Perlicks vs. the Stainless? I know plating can where off over time but has anyone used a faucet enough to have this happen?

I recently did a lemon blonde Ale on a new all grain setup and missed my water calculations somewhere along the way so bad that I ended up with a beer measuring out at about 1.5-2.0% abv. I was really upset as I had about 6 gallons of really nice smelling, but super watery beer. I stuck with the ferm...

New Glarus

Just got news that I was selected off the waiting list for the hard hat tour at New Glarus on the 28th. Super excited to tour the facilities and check out the behind the scenes action. Anyone been on this tour? My wife and I are heading that way for our Anniversary and going to do a few beer and che...

I have been thinking about possibly getting rid of one of the 20 lb Co2 tanks I have. Needing some additional corny kegs (ball lock) and would be interested in trading a full 20lb tank for two kegs. Anyone interested or has any additional equipment let me know.

Here is what my uncle did with caps he collected a few years ago. Picture is work in progress but he did every wall top to bottom of his garage bathroom! Yes he has a garage bathroom with toilet and urinal. Has probably one of the coolest garages I have ever seen. Anyway I am saving up to copy with ...

Hops at Theisens

I was in the garden area at Theisens on the south side of town and noticed they are selling Nugget Hops as an ornamental flowering plant. I think they are a little over $12 if I remember correctly and looked like they were foot tall or so in the pot. Found it interesting so thought I would share!

Good news is I got both tanks for $40 and received a bonus on the deal. One tank is completely full and the other is at least half full. The stamps are a bit older though. One is going to hit 5 years in December. Certification is still good for 5 years right? Still not sure I am going to be able to ...

CO2 Tank

Anyone know if the places in town check certification stamps when exchanging tanks? I have the possibility of buying 1 (maybe 2) 20lb tanks for $20 each. Not sure if they are certified or not yet. Thinking for this price it might be worth the buy either way but was curious if anyone has had any expe...

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a consensus among everyone. Seems like I might need to check more into the barley crusher. I do like the idea of a mill I can attach my drill to instead of hand cranking.

Grain Mill

I recently went to all grain and am looking into getting a grain mill in the next month or so. Anyone have comments or thoughts on what is best? Is there a lot of difference between mills out there? Want something that will do a good job but also don't need to break the bank either!!
