National Homebrew Compition - Entries Open
National Homebrew Compition - Entries Open
Hey all,
For those that have not seen yet and are interested in entering. The National Hombrewers Compitition is now accepting entries for this year.
Make sure that you get you entries registered fairly early as several of the regions actually filled last year and they closed down accepting beers before the deadline. There is a 750 entry limit for each region.
Go to the below link to register yourself then after that to register your beers. You can register and pay, then brew your beers here in a couple of weeks. They accept entries through sometime in mid March. Information is at the below link:

Also, new this year, you can choose to enter any region. That way if one region near you fills up, you can enter in another region. Closest to us is in Madison, WI.

Yep that is correct. One nice things is I checked the numbers yesterday and Madison has the lowest entry count to date. At least according to the site. Which I am assuming the site calcuates and addes the entires up as people submit them since the only way to register is through that site.Matt F wrote:Also, new this year, you can choose to enter any region. Entered my 6 beers on Tuesday night. I've got a black IPA, cider, american amber ale, bock, scottish 60/-, and Maibock. My dark american lager has too much diacytl and just won't do well this year. I'm pretty happy with these 6, though. With AHA membership it's $9 per entry. I ship a box through Vineria and their UPS account so works well.

I'm entering a Sweet Stout, Schwarzbier, Maibock, and possibly a Jalepeno Blond.
I'm thinking about making a road trip up to Madison on the 26th to drop off entries. If anyone wants to go let me know. If I go I can take other people's entries with me. Drop off time is between 1-4pm so we could either go up in the morning and hit a few breweries and have lunch, or go a bit later and have dinner.
Lot's of great brewery stop options along the way and in Madison.

Randy, I'm not entering anything but it sounds like a great road-trip. I'll check with my wife to make sure I'm not already committed but I'd like to go.carrisr wrote:I'm entering a Sweet Stout, Schwarzbier, Maibock, and possibly a Jalepeno Blond.

So far it looks like John and I are on for the road trip. Anyone else?
For beer delivery, you can drop them off at my house nearly any reasonable hour as I work from home. I also might be talked into a run to 3B Friday afternoon. I'd probably want to get there by 4pm as it gets busy fast, but I'd likely stay long enough to get something to eat. Please read the entry rules and have your beers properly labeled and packaged.
