Austin homebrew supply Anniversary Sale

Post by DrPaulsen »

In case anyone else didn't see this, Austin Homebrew Supply is running a pretty nice deal on beer kits for their 20th Anniversary. $20 per kit, regardless of type (all-grain, partial mash, extract). I'm thinking of picking up a couple of extract kits since I don't have a lot of time to do all grain brews these days. If anyone wants to go in on a group buy, it looks like they give free shipping over $100.

I’d be interested.. the keg fridge is running low after winter and I can kick out 3 brews with extract kits to get me back on track. Although it looks like its another $7/kit for yeast or you got to go pick your own? I haven’t ordered from them before so not sure how their kits are.

I can't speak to the quality of their kits, but they are well regarded on homebrewtalk.com. I've got a handful of extra dry yeast packets laying around from bulk orders from Farmhouse Brewing Supplies, so I wasn't planning on buying yeast. The owner, Forrest, recommended that you brew the extract kits within a month, otherwise you should store the LME in the fridge with a thin layer of vodka covering the surface to protect against spoilage.

I've used their kits frequently in the past. They are very good. Plus, they have a lot of variety. Search through their commercial clone section.

And Big T, yes, the yeast is an add-on cost, just like NB.

Tony -- thanks for the feedback.

I'm going to place an order on Saturday. If anyone else wants to get in on the deal before it's gone, write back before Saturday morning. We get free shipping over $100 and $8 flat rate below that.

Put me down for the all extract for

AHS Anniversary Blonde Rye
07527
AHS Anniversary Lemon Wheat
07554

Time to bust out some quick swill for the summer.

If were one short of making the free shipping, let me know I could possible go for the stout.

Do you want any yeast with either kit?

I'm looking into the pm thing. Eventually, they seem to go through, and it only happens sometimes.
