3/6" SS tail pieces for shanks

So I originally got these tail pieces in chrome plated brass for the shanks in my draft system. I noticed during cleaning the other day that the chrome plating has been eaten away and what was exposed to my beer was what looked like corroded brass. This is probably due to me filling my lines with sanitizer when I'm not using them. I want to replace them with stainless steel, which is what my shanks are, but everywhere mostly has just 1/4" SS tail pieces. At least from where I want to order from, to save on shipping or pick up locally. Anyone use 1/4" SS tail pieces ok with 3/16" tubing? I'm guessing I can force it on there if I get it nice and hot first, but figured I'd ask.

I use 3/16 tubing with 1/4 inch tail pieces. It is kind of a bitch to get them on. But it seals up nice and tight, with no hardware.

I use 3/16" with 1/4" too. I soak the tubing in very hot water and that seems to help. I highly recommend getting your draft beer parts from Rapids Wholesale in Marion. They are a national restaurant supply business that happens to have a main warehouse in Marion. They are usually much cheaper than the homebrew shops and no shipping, just sales tax. They have S/S Perlick forward sealing faucets for just under $30/ea. Less than $24/ea. if ordering 25 or more.

Hey buddy thanks for the reply and that's where I have gotten a large majority of my draft equipment, and where I will be going to get my tail pieces after work tonight!

If you are buying beverage tubing from rapids, buy 100'. It will save you a bundle on the per foot cost. And you will use it eventually. It's $1.35 per foot. If you buy 100', it's $0.49 per foot.
