Templeton Barrel Fill - Saturday April 9th - 2011 - Poll

Post by BrewHound »

Ok, so the deed is done and the day is approaching. The barrel filli is coming up this Saturday.

Now to just figure out a time. I don't think I can do earlier in the day as I have my daughters on Saturday's to tend with.

So I guess, I will ask you guys, do you want to do it in the mid-day (around 3ish) or do you want to have a barrel filling party and do it up, fill it after dinner then drink heavily until someone passes out, then drink even harder until the last man falls?

What are your thoughts?

Now I guess I could do both, and let those who want to drop off in the afternoon and then have a little gathering in the evening. However, if no one is interested in the evening thing I didn't want to waste time planning anything. Please Vote in Pole ASAP.

Also, even if you are not contributing to the barrel you are welcome to participate. All the beers going into the barrel will need to be checked (tasted for infection) and cleaness. So it would not hurt to have some uninfluenced pallets present to taste stuff.

Tell you guys what, as its Saturday and people are busy at different times. I will offer two times to contribute to the barrel. Not that you can't come outside of those times. Its would just be easiest to add all at one or 2 times.

3:00 PM Saturday April 9th. 2011
8:00 PM Saturday April 9th, 2011.

Again, please don't feel that you have had to participate in the brew to come and join in the festivities. This is a club event. We will need to sample all the RIS going in. I just put a new Pale on tap (still a little green) and a Flander's Brown Ale (soured up pretty nice). So if your free and want to see the barrel and sample some RIS please feel free to come on by at one of the above times.

If you are busy at both of those times and brewed and need to add to the barrel outside of specified time. Just PM me or give me a call and we will work out a time that you can come buy and pour in. My number is below.

In closing I would like to thank everyone who stepped up to the plate and brewed for this. The club appreciates you support in the events that we partipate in and this as well all the other efforts you guys put forth is why we always shine at our events. I think we used a great recipe, have a great barrel, and will make for a GREAT Beer!

Watch out Thursty, an a$$ kicking be com'in for you!

I was wondering who was storing the club brew so I could possibly get a small sample to take to work to do tests on it to see exact alcohol content and other things. All I would need is a white labs yeast vile or just a standard vile(don't need that big of a sample to test it).

Let me know if you can bring it to the meeting on Thursday.
Beer! It's not just for breakfast anymore!
