A couple corrections and updates regarding the June meeting.

#1) The meeting is June 19 which is a Thursday.

#2) I believe it was decided at the previous meeting to have the wheat beers competition at Pete's July gathering. Still feel free to bring some wheat beer's to Larry's.

#3) We need to decide if we want to add the Tallgrass Festival to our plans. See Upcoming events for info posted by Mark.

#4) Final opportunity to join Wisconsin Beer trip. The vehicles leave on Saturday June 28th at 8 am sharp! Transportation is free, food beer and any other costs are on your own.

I guess there's good news/bad news in all of this.

Bad news - I planned weeks in advance to have a beer ready for the June competition, only now to be postponed. I bottled it before I got the word the competition was now July and it could have sat in the secondary a couple more weeks. That'll teach me to put my job before beer  !!

Good news - I may have a second beer ready for the July meeting.

Bad news - I am on travel again on meeting day - July 17th. I should be able to make the meeting provided the airlines get me home in time (flying into Moline in the middle of the afternoon and have to drive back). If I miss the meeting and beer competion, I will be p!ss'ed.

But in the bigger scheme of things - always remember what Charlie Papazian says - "Relax, have a home brew!!"

I am actually travaling on business that day as well.
Planning on being home in time for the meeting.
However, I don't know what I will be able to bring as far as food and beer goes.

I am going to Huntington Beach, CA. Does anyone know of a really good brewery there that I could pick up something at to bring back? Larry?

Maybe I can sweet talk the wife into preparing some food for me to bring to the meeting, don't know what I can bring yet. I will have to ask her what she is willing to make.

There is the Huntington Beach Beer Company and a BJ's that are both good right in Huntington Beach. Belmont Brewing Company in Long Beach is better, but not in Huntington Beach.

If you want to drive a little ways there is Pizza Port in San Clemente. Pizza Port is one of my top three breweries I have ever been to as far as good beer is concerned. The have stuff in bottles too.

Hey thanks Matt.

I think I will be to busy to make any long drives, but if there are couple right there in Huntington Beach, I can probably pick up something to bring back.

DUDE! I've so been there!

Pizza Port in Solano Beach. Great Beers, Awesome Pizza, and way cooooool vibe 8) . Just regular wooden picnic tables end-to-end. You just pick a spot, sit down and hang out, dude!! My buddy ended up at the end of the night arm wrestling some chick (her challenge) sitting next to us for a pitcher of beer. He won (left handed).

I have a T-shirt from there - Land Shark Ale.

Have a great time!!!
