Thanks Tom for helping me drill holes in my fridge for taps and CO2!

Has anyone recently installed new Perlick 525-SS faucets? I had a real tough time getting them tight enough on the shanks. When I pressure tested them water came shooting out the hoes in the collar. I managed to get them to stop spraying all over by tightening the crap out of them. Two of them are still slowly leaking.

I did a search on HBT and it seems I'm not the only one. It appears that these faucets my have a defect in the "teeth". Some people have used triangle files to get them to fit better. I may call Perlick on Monday and see what's up. As expensive as they are they ought to fit better.

Loosen them and then tighten them down as much as you can. Once you get them seated they'll seal. If you have to put a short cheater bar on the spanner wrench.

Well I'd still rather have faucets that are hard to get on but rarlely need maintenance than faucets that sieze shut or grow mold if not used every day.

Well here it is at last. You've put up with all my questions, now here's the results (mostly).

We went ahead and drilled all four tap holes, so that's what the blue tape is covering. I'll get a rubber stopper to put in that until I decide to install a forth tap. Also, I don't have the CO2 hooked up yet as I need to go get the tank (10#) filled/exchanged. I'm using my portable paintball setup until then. The drain for the drip tray goes into a container inside the door.

Also left to do is to build a sturdier shelf for the kegs. Right not I can fit 3 kegs plus one of my carboys for lagering. I don't think the current shelf will be strong enough if I go to full kegs.

Looks good Randy. I really like the side by side with all the extra room for bottles. Did you have to avoid anything drilling through the side of the fridge for your gas line? That is a upgrade for me in the near future.

The only thing on the side we were concerned about was wiring. Tom made an educated guess and it worked out great. We used a rubber grommet to protect the gas hose and make a tight seal. I ended up doing the same thing for the drip tray drain through the front door.

We did catch the edge of a diagonal metal strut in the door when we drilled the tap holes. Not an issue for you though as you already have your taps installed.
