Hey guys, I just joined the forum this week and wanted to say howdy. My name is David Waite, I live in Lisbon and have been brewing for 15 years. I typically brew 10 gallon batches on a two tier set up. I use a 70 qt Coleman Extreme for my mash tun with dual Zymico Bazooka T's as the pick up manifold, a 20 gallon SS oxygen tank as my HLT which has a 6 ft. 1/2" convoluted copper tube mounted in it which allows me to recirculate via a March pump if I wish to manipulate mash temps. I have a half barrel keg that I use as my kettle and also a 13.3 gallon euro keg for when I do 5 gallon batches. I probably average 15 batches a year if not a few more.
By day I'm a code monkey for a consulting company in Coralville. One nice benefit is we have an office in Denver, CO so I am out there several times a year. Our business has been booming the past few years and my brewing really slowed down in 08 and 09 due to working long hours. However, the past year has seen me getting back into my groove and brewing at least once a month in order to maintain my sanity. I'm hoping to come to a meeting soon in order to get back in touch with my fellow brewers. I find my stress level seems to stay lower when I have people I can "talk beer" with.
One question: I notice that the members only section is off limits to me which is understandable as I am not a CRBN member (yet?), however, so too is the Who's Brewing? section. I enjoy seeing when and what others are brewing as it often provokes me to do the same. Can non-CRBN members be granted access to that section of the forum? That would be cool!
Looking forward to making it to a meeting and, umm, meeting everyone.

David,
Welcome to the group. Our next meeting is Thusday the 21st at 7pm. There's a post in the meetings forum with the details. We'd love to see you there.
Jim Potts will probably need to help you with the "who's brewing forum" I'm not sure why it's blocked off as I don't think it was before. But I'm not the authority on it so someone else will chime in.

Welcome, David. Sounds like you could maybe teach us a thing or two with all your experience! We look forward to trying some of your craft!
We do hope that you can make one of the upcoming meetings. The July meeting (next Thursday) is at my house. See the post in the Club Meetings forum for directions.
Sorry, but the "members only" is just that - for dues-paying members only. Like Randy said, we'll have our website admin check out why you can't get into "Who's Brewing" as that's not a restricted part of the forum.
BTW - if you do check us out and decide to join the club, we do prorate the dues, depending on when you pay.

The reason for the "Who's Brewing" being private David is that people post there personal addresses and phone numbers there.
It was determined at a point in time that people may be aprehensive to post there brewing schedule and personal information there if it was open to the general public.
We do hope to see you at the upcoming meeting. Dues for our club are quite low which includes access to the above forums as well as a once or twice a year discount grain order with extremely reasonable prices. Much worth the membership dues. We very much hope that you will come to our next meeting, meet the group, and see if you are interested in joining the beer nuts.

Welcome! Actually, the forum is supposed to just lock-out Randy, so something must be wrong....
But seriously, since we instituted the double-verification system to cut down on spammers, we could probably open the Who's Brewing to registered users. (Jeremy is correct that we made it member's only a couple years ago out of member concerns over phone numbers and addresses.)
Regardless, I don't think anyone would object to giving you access to "Who's Brewing," so as soon as I'm at my computer I'll add you.
