July Meeting (7-21-11)

Post by tony b »

I am hosting the meeting this month. Here are the particulars:

1722 Chestnut Ln NE
Cedar Rapids, IA 52402

http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=42.006 ... orm=LMLTCC

It's the 5th house on the left. Brown with dark brown shutters. Front door will be open, as the gang will be on the deck in back. You can walk around the outside of the house, but beware the jungle that you'll have to traverse to get there.

And don't forget about the BBQ Throwdown!!

This year the BBQ contest is Pulled Pork. Rules are pretty wide open - sauce/no sauce, your choice. Just let me know if you plan to enter, so I can have enough chafing dishes set up to serve it in. Normal one person/one vote system.

The club will kick in to supply buns for making sandwiches. Members who aren't entering BBQ should bring a side dish or other snacks to go with. Oh yeah, and BEER! What's BBQ without Beer???

See ya'll on the 21st.

Guys/Gals - we're only 2 days away from the BBQ Throwdown and only 3 of us are signed up - what's up with that?

Brian, dude, fire up that Egg and cook me some pig, dammit!

Seriously, I am trying to do a head count thing here so I know how many warming tray setups we'll need for the Q.

And don't forget the side dishes - we need something to go with the Q - cole slaw, potatoe salad, chips. The rest of ya'll, speak up!

Let's hope that the heat wave breaks before Thursday night!!!!

Glad to see some sides and more Q on their way. Way to step up, T!

WTF - no CJ, Timmy, or TOM BURNS at the meeting. Gonna be tame!

I'm in with some pulled pork. I just tossed it on my deck in direct sun with a stainless steel lid...keeping in a nice 225 under the hood.

I kegged a pale ale I brewed July 1st last night. I cranked the gas and did some shaking. I plan to fill a 2-liter and throw on the carbonater cap to get some carbonated for the meeting tonight.
