July Meeting...

Post by pete »

The combined July meeting of THIRSTY and CR Beer Nuts will be a pot luck on Saturday, 07-19 at the Diltz house in Troy Mills.

The Beer Nuts are having a club competition, so please show up early by 2:00. THIRSTY members, show up around 4:00 for social hour and tasting! We will eat around 5:00.

The early people (2:00) please bring snack-type foods. The later folks (4:00) please bring a main-meal type dish. And anyone who wants can bring dessert!

And, of course, bring homebrew and/or selected commercial beers for all to enjoy!

I will post directions to our house a couple of weeks before the meeting.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, especially the new(er) members!

Pete,

Will you have a grill available? I'd like to bring a batch of Wings to grill if possible for our afternoon snack. I'll do the cooking, can bring hardwood charcoal/smoking wood, I just need the grill.

Tony, yes, we have a basic Weber grill which should be fine, you are most welcome to use it!

Thanks, Pete

Our address is:

319-224-3675 (h)
319-329-9971 (c)

* Note: DO N0T use Mapquest or Google maps to find our address, as both of these services show an incorrect location. *

Directions:

Take Interstate 380 North out of Cedar Rapids.

Take the Toddville Exit (exit #28.)

At the exit, turn right (East) onto County Home Rd (#E-34), go about 0.5
miles to the stop light.

Turn left (North) onto North Center Point Rd (#W6E), go
through Midway, then 0.5 mile further.

Turn right (East) onto Alice Road (#W-45), it will
immediately curve left (North), continue North for about 5 miles.

At the stop sign, turn right (East) onto Central City Rd
(still #W-45), go about 1 mile.

Turn left (North) onto Troy Mills Rd (still #W-45), go about
6 miles to Troy Mills.

Continue straight through Troy Mills, at the north end of
town, the paved road (#W-45) curves right, but instead, turn
left (West) onto Linn Buchanan Rd (gravel road). Go about
0.25 miles, we are the first house on the left, tan colored,
with a hedge in front.

3296 Linn Buchanan Rd.

If you are coming North on Highway #13, or coming through
Alburnett, or North on "C" Avenue, and need directions, let me
know.

Hope to see everyone there!

I was going to come on highway 13 and then through coggon to troy mills. When I hit Troy Mills how do I get to your place?

And if I brought a few packs of venison brats and buns and condiments would that suffice for a meal item?
