2011 Iowa Festival of Beers
I'm bringing a 1/2 keg of Kolsch, a growler of Saison, and a growler of Vanilla Stout.
If we're short beers I could also bring the rest of the base Stout (probably close to 1.5 gallons) or 1/2 keg of Pale Ale.

Sounds like we need a little more beer if Tom and Matt are coming up short.
If cool with the both of you, Randy bring the extra 1/2 keg of Pale Ale and Matt can give you his freebie pass, as he volunteered to pay.
Tom, sorry to hear that it didn't turn out as you expected. I'll leave it up to you todo whatever you feel comfortable with about your free pass if you're not bringing beer to pour.
Keeping the fingers crossed, as it sounds like the weather is going to be perfect.

My beer is fine. However, I am starting to reconsider my honeydew randall idea. Every time I tell someone that is what I am doing, they tell me how much they don't like honeydew. Maybe I will just pour the american wheat and offer a cube of watermelon as a garnish.

If you're buying the watermelon and cutting it up anyway, just go on and freeze some of it and we'll give the randall a try. I like the idea of it and watermelon would be more popular than honeydew it sounds like.
Just wanting to confirm, Pottsie - you have Kent's randall with all the other tap box stuff, correct?

Did the randal get used last weekend? I'm just wondering if it worked since I've only run sanitizer through it.
Tim I say do what you want, if you want melon, do it. It will get people to talk. Otherwise, I have some porter to contribute and I can run it through some bittersweet chocolate if you don't want to do the melon.
Let me know.

I have 5 gallons of Lavender Saison that i was planning to bottle today, but i could keg it instead if we are short on beer. Also, if anyone is short on car space for equipment, canopies, etc. i can haul some stuff down. Let me know if my help is needed.

Clint, by all means bring your Saison, it sounds way more interesting than mine. I'll leave mine at home.
I can still be in for 5 gallons. The second style will either be Cream Ale or Chocolate Porter, depending on the randall status. Tim, you have first dibbs on the randall
(I have no idea how to spell Randal/randall)

I will plan on kegging tonight so it is carbonated by sunday. I have never been to this event before so i am not sure how it works. Do i just show up at the gate with my tix and a keg in hand or should i plan on showing up a little bit before the brewfest to drop the keg off?
Show up beforehand. I'm planning to get there around 12 to help set up. Are you bringing a half keg?

Tony - 3 gal Oktoberfest
Kent - 2.5 gal Imperial Hefe
Tim - 2.5 gal Melon American Wheat
Jeremy - 5 gal Club RIS
Tony 2.5 gal wheaten beatdown
Clint 2.5 gal Lavender saison.
Randy 2.5 gal Kolsch, .5 gallon saison, 1.5 gallon stout?
Matt 1 gallon Hoppy PA
Kent 2.5 Something else
=25 gallons
What am I forgetting?

I've got the randall. I'll get it spliced into a tap line before the fest.

I don't think we're counting the growlers towards our total, since they will just be special pours.
I was down for 2.5 gal Kolsch and 2.5 gal Pale Ale (if needed) plus 2 growlers.
