This Thursday (11/10) NBB is doing a glass giveaway at 6:30 when you buy a NBB beer. I am sure everyone has a ton of glassware already, but it's a good reason to get in and check the place out.
I won't be working but I might be there anyway.
Don't give the beer novice bartenders too bad of a time.

I wouldn't be able to get my wife to come along for just drinks. We're dining too.

Well. I got my glass but I'm not overly happy about it.
I like the place, and the food is good, but I picked two beers I just didn't care for.
First was the Empyrean Dark Vanilla Porter. Happy hour price of $2.60 for a 23 oz glass, gotta love that. I felt this one was way to dry for the style with a thin mouthfeel and astringent flavor. Like maybe it was rushed out the door. I drank it though.
Second was the New Belgium Snow Day which could have been great, if it wasn't overhopped. It was so hoppy it tasted like a black belgian IPA. I thought this was a X-mas beer? After all, whats the point of using that lovely Belgian yeast with all it's fruity glory if you are just going to hop the damn thing to death.

Interesting Tidbit. If you buy two 6 packs of New Belgium and then go out to the New Belgium site and enter the UPC codes you can have a nice two glass gift set sent to the address of your choosing. These are larger glasses than the standard 10oz. per the lovely ladies at the bar last night.
I have not found this on the New Belgium site yet so I'll wait and see.

I've had both beers. I found the Empyrean leaving much to be desired. It definitely tasted thin with only a hint of the vanilla mentioned on the label. I enjoyed the snowday, though. I thought it was well balanced for my liking, but i definitely love the hops, and at 55 IBUs that's perfect for me.
