Bad people drink bad beer. You don't usually see an empty bottle of Rochefort tossed onto the side of the road

They messaged me. While I am somewhat still looking for 1/2Barrel to ferment in, I think I'll wait for a slightly better price. I offered him $40/piece and he passed.

Its nice for once to kind of wait it out and see what deals you can get.

Yep, $40 is about what you can expect to pay at Marion Iron, when they have one.

Just stopped by Marion Iron, and they have 3 fairly nice looking 1/2bbl sankeys in their stainless pile. With the recent thaw, their yard is a muddy mess - FYI.

I cut the top off my first sankey this past weekend. I made a jig for my angle grinder w/ a shelf bracket, a 2x4 scrap, and a 1 1/4 PVC endcap (fits nicely in the sankey top). I used tie wraps to attempt to hold on the angle grinder. The shape of my angle grinder (el cheapo from Harbor Freight) is not conducive to being held on w/ tie wraps. While functional, it looks like the work of drunken chimps. Hopefully my next one will be prettier.
