That looks great Martin! Did you ever find a CO2 tank for your project? I was clearing out some kegs stuck under a table last weekend in my brewing area and found a 20 lb tank that I had purchased a couple years ago and forgot about. It would definitely need to be hydro'ed. Let me know if you still need one.

I could still use it. What does it take to be hyrdro'd? The annoying thing lately is that linweld wants you to have a truck to transport anything over 15 lb.

Don't go to Linnweld. Go down the street to Praxaire and save your self $10-$15.

Or go to Hawkeye Fire. The only downside to Hawkeye, is they don't do hydrotesting every day. So you might drop it off, and pick it up a couple days later.

Iowa fire charges around $30 to hydro, and (at least, the last time I did it) it included the fill

I am not sure about state law concerning CO2 tank sizes. They have never said anything about my vehicle but then again I have a truck and I only have a 10lb. tank. I think 20lb. tanks is where the law might come into effect.

I have only been to Hawkeye and had similar experience. I take a 20# tank and they don't even ask. Usually drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.

I think Linnweld just doesn't want our business.

Hawkeye has always been friendly to me.

It is not a state law, but a company policy that was inherited when Linnweld was sold just after the flood I ask them about that when I was told I could not take mine with me either.

Also worth a mention, Airgas does not have that requirement either and they are just down the street from Linnweld as well.

never had a problem with hawkey fire, treated me really well, they just have paper to sign that says if you leave it in the car and it blows up, its not there fault.

I dropped off the 20# tank that David sold me. It was $25 for hydro testing (on invoice, although they said something like $47 I could have sworn). And $20 to refill the tank.

I think that's cheaper than linweld for a 5# tank. It's possible they mean $47 for everything for my tank which is great!
