Simple & cheap brewery upgrade to keep floor clean
Simple & cheap brewery upgrade to keep floor clean
For those who would like less wet stuff on the ground when they brew this is an upgrade for you. I got a little metal bucket at Target for about $1 that I hang from my QD to catch the few drips that drop on the floor everytime I change my hoses. Brewing inside it is especially nice to keep the floor dry and clean. It was there around Christmas but you should be able to find some kind of cheap bucket somewhere.

Hey, let's not get crazy now. I too have had the oops that valve is still open happen a few times. I also use a bucket that I slide around under the pump and mash tun for similar duty.DrPaulsen wrote:Drinking less while brewing is about the only thing I've found to help with the valve/pump issue.

yeah, or if you step away while the pump is running, and have it attached to your HLT to recirculate and then the hose come loose points up at your electric control panel and douses it in all the strike water you were heating up, at least the GFI tripped and saved it all.

Repainting my kitchen ceiling was a pretty good way to ensure that I'll never not check hose clamps and keg pressure again. (Double negative intended.)
