Maple Syrup Festival Pancake Breakfast

Post by Steven P »

Not beer related, but Indian Creek Nature Center's maple syrup pancake breakfast is this weekend. Tickets are $4 for kids $7 for adults.

Going to be out of town, so I will miss it this year, but it's pretty awesome. They make their own syrup, and it's darker and tastier than the stuff you can buy. And it supports the nature center, which is awesome too.

It is a cool event. Winter has been so mild I never got around to tapping my trees this year. Last year a did a smoked porter where I replaced all brewing water with sap. It mostly added a wood character. You have to reduce the sap around 40 to 1 depending on the variety of maple tree to get the dark sweet stuff.

I dunno about that, Tony.  But I have a word of advice: don't eat the yellow snow.

Good retort!

Because, as we all know, the crux of the biscuit is the apostrophe!
