The next Tech Meeting is March 8th at 7:30pm. Sully11 will be our host; his address is 3820 37th Ave SW, UNIT B, Cedar Rapids 52404. There are little lots for people to park in, they are not assigned, just try not to park on the street.
We're going to start a new thing with this tech meeting. If you would like feedback on a beer you've brewed you can bring it and we'll do our best to give you constructive input. We're going to do this with upcoming tech meetings to see how it goes. The feedback portion will start at 7:30 and we'll start the topic at 8pm.
This month I'll be going over some basic information on reading water reports and working with building mineral profiles for your brewing water. We'll also talk about mash pH along with this. I'll cover some reasons why you might want to adjust your water and tools you can use to do that.

For those planning to attend: If you have a laptop computer or tablet please bring it. We'll be looking at using a spreadsheet for analyzing water profiles and making mineral additions. It will be most useful if you can work with the tables yourself as we go through it. You will need to be able to view an Excel spreadsheet file, so you'll need to have software that can open them. The sheet I'll be demonstrating is a free download at:
https://sites.google.com/site/brunwater/home/files. Note: there is a metric and US version available. We'll be using the US version if that's not obvious.
If you don't have a laptop/tablet but still want to work with this at home, you can download the file or bring a USB drive and I'll copy the file for you at the meeting. If you are one of those who likes to read the textbook before classes start, this spreadsheet contains lots of good information on water. Please refer to the "Instructions" and "Water Knowledge" sheets if you'd like.
If you have a water report that you want to get help figuring out please bring that as well.

I'd like to apologize for screwing up this month's tech meeting. We normally try to meet the first Wednesday of the month. I must have been looking at the Feb calendar when I posted the details.
I'd be happy to do a meeting on Water for April is enough people are interested. Please let me know in the next couple of weeks so we can get it set up. We also need someone to host. Tentative date would be April 4th.
