I brewed a premium lager a month ago, washed the yeast and stored it. I put together a starter yesterday without really thinking too much and now I'm producing a BMC clone (light american lager) for some drinking games.
It never occured to me until now if there are any negative side affects from going from my premium lager to a light lager with this yeast. I know its ok to go the other direction but what can I expect out of this?
The light lager is just an offshoot of my premium just watered down basically same hops, etc.
What do you guys think? I plan to decant the starer and pitch mostly the yeast. They have rested on the bottom of the starter and I have a light foam layer on the top and see some bubbles. I feel like its probably ok to go.
Also this is safalager 34/70.

If the yeast is still healthy you should be fine, it will just start and finish fast.
