Saw this on lifehacker the other day. Not sure if you guys have seen this project or not. Pretty interesting. I figure at least Lee would get a kick out of this, based on the logging and historical graphing.

That's a pretty cool project. I've often thought of doing something similar, but when I see the "Uberfridge Communication Overview" (http://www.elcojacobs.com/wp-content/up ... _small.png) all I can think of is how many different ways that system can break. I then start to picture the hundreds of hours I would probably end up sinking into building and trouble-shooting the project. This is where I give up and just drink some beer instead. Kudos to Elco for having the creativity, know-how, and determination to build that system.

If I understand it correctly, all the important functionality (the temperature control) just lives on one device. If everything else breaks, the system should continue to keep the fridge at the right temperature.
