Last year was pulled pork, brisket was the year before that.

Sounds like we should do ribs or chicken then.

How much for just one rib?

OK, voting is closed. And the winner by a nose (1 vote) is BRISKET!

To keep this interesting, seeing as we've done briskets before, to get "extra credit" in the judging, you will need to do some BURNT ENDS. Or, as I refer to them - Meat Candy! If you don't know what they are or how to make them, Google it. See Arthur Bryant's - the GodFathers of Burnt Ends.

So, to recap - standard entry is sliced beef brisket. Bonus points if you also do Burnt Ends.

Non-BBQ Cookers are welcome, bring a side to share.

Everyone - bring beers to share, homebrews and commercials - all are welcome!

Reminder, the date is Saturday August 4th, 5pm, at my house:

1722 Chestnut Ln NE
CR.

It's just off I-380 @ the Coldstream Exit. Head West, Bear Right at the Fork, Go up the hill. Turn left onto Chestnut Ln. 5th House on the left (light brown/dark brown shutters). If you reach a T-intersection @ Wenig Rd. You went too far.

With the Throwdown coming up this Saturday, I just wanted to get a rough count of how many entries there will be?

If not overwhelmed with entries, I should have enough chafing dishes set up to keep things warm. I will also have a small 3-compartment electric warming tray set up if anyone wants to warm up a BBQ sauce. The power strip should have some open space if people want to bring crock pots.

I will provide buns and some chips (Beer flavored chips, in fact!). So, folks should bring some other sides to go with. Have plenty of plates, napkins, glasses, forks, etc.

Everyone needs to bring BEER! Again, commercials are cool at this event, along with homebrews.

Bought a full packer cut at Costco yesterday; so GAME ON!

I'm in like Flynn. The Kamado people haven't sent me the repair kit yet so I'm jerry-rigging something in true American BBQ style.

Can we bring a significant other with us or is this Beer Nuts only? I don't care either way, just asking. My lady likes BBQ too.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the annual BBQ Throwdown, either with Q (7 entries) and those that brought tasty sides and all the good brew to go with!!

As it will probably not come as any big surprise to folks, but Tim kicked everyone's butt in the Brisket comp, I mean seriously kicked our butts. All we can say is Congrats and just wait until next year!

Also, some folks left some items behind that you might want back. PM me to make arrangements.
