Hello Beer Nuts,

My wife is out of town and I will be at home with the kids. What should I do? Well, I want to watch the Penn State at Iowa game which kicks off at 7PM and drink some good beers. I can try a lot more beers if I invite some people over that share the same passion. Looks like kids are going to bed by 7 Saturday night.

Come over to my place at 7PM Saturday night. I don't plan to do much for food. I have four beers on tap right now in addition to some good stuff in the fridge.
1) Over the Line IPA (from the homebrew fest)
2) Bourbon Barrel Aged Up in Smoke Imperial Smoked Porter (also fest)
3) Funk You Very Much Dark Belgian Sour
4) Club Templeton Barrel RIS with Coffee added

Bring some good beers to share and a if you like, a snack too.

My address is 1102 30th Street Drive SE, Cedar Rapids 52403 located between 1st Ave and East Post Road. It is not your normal location. It has a curvy asphalt (that’s right, the gravel has been upgraded) drive so please drive slowly. Parking is limited near the house, but we should be able to get three cars wide in front of the garage and the rest pull in on the left side perpendicular to the drive. I attached a picture as a guide. Park like you see the white boxes in the attached picture. Try to keep it tight like a parking lot. You can also park along the main road and walk down to the house. I HIGHLY encourage you to car pool due to tight parking and beer drinking.

From 1st Ave, turn at the Walgreens on 29th Street Drive heading East towards East Post Road. Stay on 29th as it curves and becomes 30th Street Drive. My house will be on your left (North side). If you get to Indian Hill Road or East Post Road you went too far.

From East Post Road, turn at the intersection with Lakeside Road and 30th Street Drive heading West on 30th Street Drive. My house will be on your right (North side). If you get to 1st Avenue you went too far.

I have a shared driveway with 1100 30th Street Drive SE. There is a blue Linn County address sign with my house number on it on 30th Street Drive and a concrete sign at the base of my mailbox that says Franklins. Enter the driveway between the blue 1100 and 1102 signs. My neighbor has a large grey hound bus in our shared driveway that is hard to miss on the left. You can park on the right side at the top of the drive if it looks too full up by the house. My house is the second house. The road goes down a hill and turns sharply to the left and then back to the right. If you have trouble finding the place call my cell at six five four five one four six. Visible proof that saying home was the correct choice for me on Saturday. Maybe next time.
