Grain Order

Post by Gjoseph »

Is this a thing of the past or did I miss out on this years order?

I'm curious as well.

Did someone mention that backpocket brewing would be willing to sell grain by the bulk as well?

You did not miss anything. The cabinet is going to contact Back Pocket, to see if we can work with them. As far as I know, Millstream never told us we couldn't order from them. If anyone has an idea, please post it here, or email me.

I think we should talk to Joe. I'm sure we wouldn't get grain as cheap as we did at Millstream. However supporting our local HBS so you can buy ingerdients on a whim is a plus.

I'm in process of obtaining additional information on a bulk grain order and will present findings at the March meeting.

Thought I would get this topic going again.

We left the topic kind of up in the air. I myself have mixed feelings. I would be curious to get solidified prices from Joe as I don't know if we have heard where he would be on the grain.

Last year I thought we had 4 pallet's full of grain. I imagine Joe could do something.

To me, it's easily worth it to go from Joe if he can be in the $40 range on base malts. I know once he builds up more and more sales he will get into a better pricing down the road and this would help him towards that.

I want to support him if we can.

Here is the link to what Backpocket can get:

http://www.countrymaltgroup.com/malt.asp

If you click the malster, it lists the malts they have.

I apologize for any confusion on this topic. I have discussed this with Joe and we will be proceeding with the order through Backpocket. A new post will be started shortly with details.
