BIG BREW DAY MAY 2, 2009 - 3RD BASE BREWERY 8AM

Post by bkanderson »

Just a reminder, we will be hosting the AHA Big Brew Day at 3rd base on Sat may 2nd. We will be brewing on the 3rd base commercial system. We would like to begin brewing at 8am so we can be done by early afternoon. We need to know who will be coming to this event and when you will be showing up if at all possible.

We also have a sign-up sheet to bring side dishes and if you wanted to smoke something for the event. If you do want to smoke, please let Larry or Matt know. The club will help pay for the meat.

Things we need from club members:

Notification whether you are coming or not and what time to expect you.
Beer, it would be greatly appreciated if people could bring some beer to share with Travis and other club members
1 Charcoal grill – we currently have one grill but would like another one. (don’t worry about charcoal, Club will supply)
Charcoal Chimney Fire starter
Side dishes to pass
Beans
Potato salad
Desserts
Buns -hamburger/hotdog
Condiments (ketchup/mustard/BBQ)
Etc
Breakfast food – if there is interest to bring something in the morning
Chairs – bring your own
Tables – to set food on and eat off of

Please let us know if you have any other ideas.

P.S. The club will be brewing and cleaning so dress accordingly. It gets pretty wet in the brewhaus

I can bring my weber grill. I could also bring my smoker, for that matter. Oh, and I've got a couple of chimneys.

I will plan to be there, but maybe not so early as 8am, more like 9-ish. And being that early, I'll need COFFEE. So, I will bring a good sized thermos jug of black coffee and styro cups. If you need moo and/or sweetner in yours, you're on your own.

This might be a good opportunity to try out the Bacon Explosion recipe I found online. Of course, there will be BEER to go with it.

While I can bring a couple of folding chairs, won't 3rd Base have their patio furniture out by then?

I'll be there between 7.5 and 8 AM. I'm bringing my weber, the club box (banner, etc), smoked porter (might go good with the bacon explosion), and probably something else to eat in the breakfast area. I'll probably bring other stuff, but can't think of what at the moment.

Depending on the availability of baby-sitting, there's a chance I'll be there. If I can come, I'll bring a keg of either Bohemian Pilsner or an Alt that turned out more like a Porter.

I have a couple cases of empty bottles that I'll bring if anyone wants them. They have all been rinsed out, but not delabelled.

I will bring some baked beans with smoked pork and some beer. Not sure what kind yet but something.

Also, it's Michelle's (my sister) birthday on Sat so hope we can help her celebrate.

I have something to do that morning at 11, so I may be able to be there around noon. Is there anything missing that I could bring.
