2013 Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts Festival

Post by Steven P »

Hello All,

It's time to step up to the task of getting our October 12th festival at Benz off the ground. We have considerably more time this year than last to get everything in place.

Last year we had the cabinet and a half dozen volunteers for the planning committee. This year we can do the same, but we will need all club members to pitch in with beer and day of setup and tear down.

I know we can make this a sell-out premier event this year and even better than the last.

Assigned tasks include coordinating items like:

Tents, food, music, tickets and signage, glassware, beer list, tables and chairs, security, porta-johns, club branded wear to sell, coordinating with other clubs, runners, water, ice, tap list, event layout, and all other sorts of minutiae.

Please post here if you are willing and able to join the planning committee. This initially will require a separate meeting once a month (usually at 3BB) starting in June and weekly starting in September as the fest draws nearer.

Thanks for showing your support!

Like last year, I won't officially be attending planning meetings, but I'll make it to as many as I can.

I'll also keep you apprised of what's being done with the bar in preparation.

Question: Would you like me to toss up a Festival Planning forum?  I can do it almost instantly.

Is this members only? It should be.

Presumably from your "DOH!" post in the announcement thread, you noticed that it is indeed members only. ;)

In fact, the forum itself is invisible if you're not a member.

Are we using the Romulan cloaking device?

I'm in for helping out again (Yeah, I know, all the officers participate anyway, but ...).
