NewBo Bar setup take 2

Post by kjball »

Who would be able to bring beer, pour beer, help setup and tear down?

THis will be July 20 from 4-8 PM. I'm asking about how the regulation will work, and if we're competing with the commercial guys.

OK, I just got a reply. We would be in a separate area from the beer tent. Currently, they're only allowing 200 people into the "Homebrew" area and they will be banded and given glasses. This looks like a small commitment from us, but I'm sure if we indicated we could handle it, they would allow more people in.

Thoughts?

Also, I'll donate a keg of beer, but can't be there

I want to come but my wife is going to be in Boundary Waters and I am home with the kids. If I find someone to watch them I will try to make it out.

Not getting a lot of interest, it sounds like. As it stands we have 4 kegs and 2 people able to work. Sounds like we'll pass on this? I need to let them know early this week.

That's too bad.  Probably just too busy a time of year.

Has anyone entered the beer competition? The game plan had been to set up the bar for contestants to pour their beers there, along with those volunteered by the other members.

NewBo really sort of dropped the ball on this deal.

I've entered the contest. If there are/were enough contestants from the club, they were ok with us brnging the bar. THe club pouring was a separate deal form the contest. it was the filler between the contest and the music that night.

Busy time of year and hard to make enough beer to give away all the time. Maybe next year. I need to start brewing for October!

Looks like I will be doing BBQ at least. We'll see what I have for beer. If I bring beer, someone else will have to pour it for me. If anyone wants to help server BBQ, that would be awesome. I am thinking about vending.

I told them we wouldn't be bringing the bar for the afternoon/eveinig. They were OK with it. I think it will actually simplify things for them.
