Excise Tax

Post by Lower Case T »

Bad News on the way. http://www.probrewer.com/vbulletin/show ... hp?t=14050

My understanding is that the house is very close to cutting the excise tax in half. And then the Senate will Triple it. Doesn't make any sense to me, but nothing ever does :) Just thought the more people raising a fuss about this the better. Right now we pay 7 bucks/bbl every month. If it goes to 21 bucks/bbl, I might need to find a new job :( Anyone hiring, that would allow me to watch the Colbert Report on the clock? :)

Grassley's on the committee, so all of us, should let our voices be heard. He will listen to his constituents. So flood his email with support for the Brewers Excise and Economic Relief (B.E.E.R.) Act of 2009 (H.R. 836).

The BEER Act hopes to return the federal beer excise tax back to its pre-1991 level of $9 per barrel for large brewers and $3.50 for small brewers.

And ask him to not support the pending measure to increase this excise tax to help fund the healthcare reform bill being debated in his committee.
