Looking for a welder in the club.

Post by Matt F »

I have no welding experience or equipment, but I do have beer to share. I am looking for a club member with the welding skills to cut an 18" section out of each leg in my brew stand. I want to lower the overall height to play with some different brewing configurations. I attached a picture for you reference. It is made out of your typical 1.5" square tubing. NOT stainless. For payment, I will open up a good bottle or more of good beer I have had stashed away. Thanks.

You looking to have it welded in place or take it out to be welded? That looks like something I could do. When would you like it done?

I planned to haul it to where I can get the work done. Let me check with my wife to see when I have a day available. I figure the sooner the better. Lets talk at the next club meeting and THANKS!

With Travis volunteering I'm picturing Matt's brewing stand ending up mounted in the bed of a Ford pickup!

I think a single tier system would be a good way to go under a topper. You could probably have a really nice setup in you camper.

Travis, do you mig weld?  One of these days, I'm going to fire up my welder, but it's been so long since I used one, I'm probably going to need some help remembering how it all goes together.

Figured so.  Back when I was working on my old truck, I got a bonus from work, and picked up a small Hobart.  Then I traded my truck, and haven't used it.

I think a brew sculpture might be on deck for the summer.  And it's got to be extra wild, to make Prochaska jealous.

Travis, you still game for this project? My wife is out of town Sep 6-8 so I am thinking that could be a good project for that weekend. I just need to find a place to drop my kids off which is usually not an issue. I am thinking that Saturday.

Sorry Travis, I won't be able to get free this weekend. I will have to put off the project for a little while...again.
