Club American Amber competition

Post by carrisr »

It's time to judge the Amber comp. I'm looking for 1-2 Judges, a steward, and someone willing to host. Judges can be anyone who doesn't have an entry in the comp, the steward and host can be anyone. Don't worry if you don't have any judging or stewarding experience. One of the reasons we hold comps is to get members experience in judging beers.

I'll steward or judge as needed.

I'd like to get this done next week if possible. Can anyone host? What evenings work for everyone?

I can host if we did it on Friday, November 1st next week. My wife is out of town that night so I can open up at 8pm. Good opportunity to hang out and drink some more beers after the judging too. That is the only night I have available to host.

I'm out of town next weekend. Not a problem if you don't need me to judge. If it works for everyone, do it

You can count me as a Second string line up, I can help if you need it and I’m still mobile

*volunteers

I can do anything but host. My apt isn't exactly spacious.

I'd be interested in judging if there's a good source for how to approach it. I know it's more than just 'I like this one better than the other' depending on style and color and...etc.

You are welcome to join us as an observer if you want to learn how it all works. Otherwise the BJCP. Org site is a good resource. On Oct 26, 2013 1:44 PM, "jahphreaky" <brew-members@crbeernuts.org (brew-members@crbeernuts.org)> wrote:

I can do Friday, like Big T said, as a second-stringer. I might just drop by to have some good beers and hang for awhile.

OK, Friday night, 8pm at Matt's house. Tony or Travis, can either of you join us? That way we'd have 3 judges and a steward. We've got 4 entries so it shouldn't take too long.
