Frozen yeast

Post by jjbuck »

Recently purchased a lot of hops (16oz) and 3 vials of yeast.
Absent mindedly placed all in freezer when I got home. Remembered about 12 hrs later. Yeast was frozen. How badly does freezing affect the viability? Is it totally dead or can it be saved?

Frozen yeast

Make a starter. If you lost 1/2 of them to freezing  you can still work your way back to golden. On Nov 10, 2013 2:02 PM, "jjbuck" <brew-tech@crbeernuts.org (brew-tech@crbeernuts.org)> wrote:
