Brew stand opinions

Well I ordered 3 of the huge banjo burners. Now I just need to figure out how to hook them up. High pressure and eat propane or low pressure? The low seems like I need a lot of parts to make it work, but I'm not familiar with this stuff yet.

Low pressure = future automation, but does that matter how I set it up in the meantime?

I can't help you with the propane regulator questions. Beautiful thing about natural gas is no regulator which saved some coin. With natural gas you just need enough wc pressure to make it work.

Well maybe I will go NG, but that takes me wanting to brew in other places (mainly my back patio) another issue. I can run NG to my garage without too much issue, but running it to my back patio is not happening (finished basement on that side of the house and too spendy since it would be a long run.

Going all low pressure propane. Need orifices, have a nice low pressure regulator on it's way. I should order steel this week and get started on the stand so all I have to do is the hard part, mount and plumb the burners. It's slowly coming a long. I have 3 recipes, 50# of 2 row and 2# of hops waiting on me in the basement!

Got my burners last night and they are simply MASSIVE in every way.

I think I have everything but the steel at this point. Tentative plan is to purchase and melt some metal in a couple weeks, then assemble/plumb and see how big of a fail this endeavor was/is

It's "done", now if I can find my flex lines from the burners to the black pipe fuel rail I could test fire this sucker! Oh and I need to cut my silicone lines to length also

What are the dimensions of the stand? I'm looking to move indoors.

56" wide x 16" deep x 20" tall plus 4" for the casters.

I can email you a PDF or DWG file with all dimensions and a cut list. Marion Iron cut all my steel to length for $2.08/ft (steel cost included in that number)

If you don't mind I would also like one of them drawings/materials list for your stand as I too have been thinking of moving farther inside of the garage. Maybe you need to host a brew party when you fire that bad billy up??

Thanks everyone, I will gladly host a brew day once I have a few batches under my belt. I have never used pumps, let alone any "fancy" equipment before so I am quite green here. First batch may be this weekend, we leave for a weeks vacation next week so if it doesn't happen now, it won't for a few more weeks and my inventory is getting really low.

Attached is the PDF. I used 2" 14 gauge square tubing. I liked the looks of this size tubing even though it's WAY overkill. It also fits the Brewers Hardware banjo burner mounts/shields perfectly and their low pressure propane orifices. 2 march 809 pumps, camlocks gallore, silicone tubing. Fisher R232A 450,000 BTU low pressure regulator.

First batch will be a pale ale or an amber recipe I got from a guy in IC I traded some of my old gear for.

Also, future plans are for automation on the HLT and MLT for temps. I have the furnace valves already, but likely will make that next winters project. I have roughly $250 worth of parts to buy to make version 2.0 a reality.
