I'm new to these forums (and fairly new to homebrewing in general for that matter).
Just wanted to make my first post, introduce myself, voice a few opinions, and ask a few questions.
My name is RJ, i'm 26 years old and just getting into homebrewing. I have read quite a bit about homebrewing, but so far have only brewed 1 batch myself.
I'm familiar with Heartland Homebrew in DesMoines (going there this weekend as a matter of fact), but I was wondering what other places around here sell homebrew supplies ... anything closer to CR would be nice). A little birdie told me that Cedar Brewing (or someone there) may be thinking about creating a homebrew store, but not sure if this is true or not ... would be nice.
I like the fact that CR-Brew has a forum, but I wish that there was more information on the page. It would be nice if there was a web page with information about the group, how to join, news, links, etc, and also a forum. Perhaps using something like phpNuke rather than phpBB. (I'd be willing to help with this if needed - I built and maintain iahawkeye(dot)com which runs phpNuke, and have plenty of experience).
If this cant be done (or nobody wants to do it) it would be nice to at least have a few more categories/topics in the forum (I wasn't sure what topic to post this message in for example).
Last, but not least, I was looking to get some information about this club in general such as whats a typical meeting like? Is the club for beginners, experts, or everyone? Is there a fee? I don't know how many meetings I'd be able to make it to, and I'm a long cry from an expert, but I do think it would be fun to attend when I could.
Note from the new guy

RJ, thanks for the inquiry. Sorry nobody has replied to you yet. We are a group of brewers from extract to all grain. Some people have not been brewing very long other have brewered for 10 or more years. It is great way to meet fellow brewers, talk shop and just have a good time sampling each others beer as well as commercial specialty beer. The best way to get information is to contact me directly Brian.Anderson@pearson.com. I am not sure if you saw the message for the first meeting this year. It actually takes place tonight. I hope your able to make it.
There is a smalll club fee that will be used to maintain the club website, and expenses. It will also be used to do club events. The yearly fee is $20-$25. I look forward to meeting you to talk in more detail.
