New beer line from MoreBeer

Post by fargo41 »

Just got an email from morebeer featuring this:

http://morebeer.com/products/ultra-barr ... -foot.html

This sounds very similar to the lines that some of you use but seems like this might be more flexible?

I could see myself trying this tubing. The thing I hate about the glass lined tubing I have is how stiff it is. For my fridge it is a pain to have to push it around to close the door. Sometimes it pops my door open. Was never a problem with more flexible stuff. I do love how the stuff I have cleans and stays clean so easily. I really like it but is difficult to use with my fridge setup.

Yes same with me. I haven't bought the glass lined but I like the idea; so I might go this route to have something more flexible.

I'm in the same boat. I'll probably jump on this stuff in the near future.

Yeah this looks like a good investment. I'll be interested to see how flexible it is.

If anyone wants to go in on 100' I'd be interested. Unsure how much I need, but 50 seems plenty for 5 kegs.

Interesting. Rapids and other distributors or beer line to bars have some line that looks like PE with some inner coating. May be worth a look, too.

More beer website says 2.2 drop in psi per foot. Had me thinking 5' lines like traditional beer line. They recommend 6'. I would go with 6' per line as a starting point for 11 to 14 psi beers.

I imagine there will be an example of these lines at NHC. I will try to check them out and ask the vendor some questions. If you have any, post here and I will try to remember to ask. No guarantees, I imagine I will be intoxicated the entire time I am there. I want to see how flexible they are, any different cleaning regime required, and of course ask about tubing length needed for a typical dispensing system.

I've been seeing that for bars the recommended ID of the tube for 6 ft draws is 3/16. And short draws (under 50 ft) 1/4 inch. Main issue seems to be quantity of beer in the line.

I talked to Joe about this line and Here was his reply:

Just wanted to let you know I did some sleuthing around regarding the new Ultra Barrier and Ultra Barrier Silver beer lines--and it does look like I can get it in, and the price will be pretty darn close to MoreBeers... Just a heads up--if you know folks in the club are wanting to purchase some, I could work with you all regarding a bulk purchase. If the product winds up picking up popularity across the home brewing community, you may also very well see it available by the foot at both shops.

Let me know what your findings are and if you or anyone else in either club is looking for it! We can get it!

Woot!

Joe

I'll leave it up to Joe to determine what "pretty darn close" means, but I'm interested.

Pretty sure I am switching. The stiff lines I have keep popping my fridge door open and it gets annoying. I would need enough for 4 lines so likely 24'. I would take 25' for some extra and I am guessing it comes in 100' or multiples of such. I prefer to get from BIY.

I need ~30 feet. I agree, I would rather buy from BIY.
