I usually flush the line with sanitizer until it runs clear between kegs and leave it in the lines until I tap it again.
If they are nasty I'll soak in pbw in a sauce pan about 160F. I do this every couple years or so.

I'm doing a thorough cleaning and that was exactly what I wanted to know. Faucets are sticking a bit, figured it's time

And those silver tap lines from More Beer. That's what I'm thinking for my new tap fridge setup.

That's what I have and really like it. I didn't go SS on my faucets since I won't do sours out of kegs so rite brew said it wasn't a big deal. Saved me a good chunk of $$

I would love to have perlick, but I would rather spend money on other things, like beer ingredients!

Ideally, BLC, Beer Line Cleaner, is made for the job. But I typically use oxyclean, thorough rinse, then starsan. I picked up a cheap submersible pump at Harbor Freight to recirculate.

in a commercial bar setting, the recommended procedure is to use a standard beer line cleaner such as BLC, AB 401, etc., every two weeks to remove the biological load followed by a water rinse. then once per quarter an acid line cleaner should also be used to remove built up beer stone. for faucets, I'd recommend soaking them in line cleaning solution for about 20-30 mins and scrubbing them with a faucet brush. in a home draft system, I would recommend running a line cleaning solution through between every keg with an acid line cleaning every 3-6 months.

Bear- do they pump hot fluids or warm the lines up when they use BLC OR Acid line cleaners? Or just leave at serving temperatures?

I made a beer line cleaner using plans from Zymurgy or BYO a couple of years ago. It is basically a hand held garden sprayer with a ball lock connector. When I want to clean a line I just pull the connector from the corny, connect to the post on the garden sprayer full of BLC and run it through the line. I let it sit for a few minutes while I rinse the sprayer and fill with water. Then run water through the lines. It is quick and easy.

IIRC they run cleaners in the 80-120 degree range. i'll double check my books at work tomorrow and verify that.
