Rivers Edge Homebrew Festiv-Ale (Quad Cities) July 18th
The city of Rock Island, IL (QCA) along with Quad Cities Homebrew Clubs REFS and MUGZ are throwing a homebrew fest Saturday July 18th from 2 - 6pm - The fest is going to be located on the downtown plaza in front of the Rock Island Brewing Company at 1815 2nd Ave. Rock Island, IL 61201. We are hoping CRBeerNuts and other surrounding clubs would be interested in taking part in this event, if anyone is interested in serving their beer and repping their club please contact me at Jason@ribco.com. Event details can be found on our Facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/1571499 ... 446181465/
Would be great to have a bunch of you guys on board for this, as we look forward into being a part of CR homebrew fest in August.
thanks

Thanks for the invite. I am Mr. Mom that weekend so I can't participate sadly.

Sounds interesting, though my summer weekend calendar is getting full with the kids and family. I'll add it on just in case!

Is this the same day as the NewBo fest?

are we pouring at it this year?

The club does not have this as a festival on our schedule. But we like to see member winning competitions and recruiting new members!
Also it's a great advertisment location for our festival.

I'd be willing to go to the QC and pour to support their event. I should have a couple of beers ready.
Since the QC event doesn't start until 2pm, if you're not competing, you could conceivably go to the New Bo event for sampling, which starts @ 11am (10:30am VIP?) and still have time to drive to the QC event and set up to pour at 2pm. If there's only a few of us pouring, we wouldn't need to take the whole bar, just one of the jockey boxes.

Tony or anyone else who would like to come down and represent CR Beer Nuts, it would be a honor to have you guys involved...totally understand there is something else going on in your area that day and only a little over a month after you guys will have your own event. But 3-4 beers and a couple guys would mean a ton to us here in the Quad Cities - feel free to contact me directly at Jason@ribco.com with any questions are details to help dial you guys in for this event.
Facebook page for the event is here if anyone is interested https://www.facebook.com/events/1571499383115638/
thanks again

I'm considering it. I need to figure out if I'll have anything to bring as my brewing time is limited right now.

At this point I'm thinking about going down and pouring too.

Might end up being a new clustered server deployment day for me. Time will tell.

Since I got asked at the last club meeting to coordinate this event, I'm reaching out to the members to start to finalize who's going down to pour and/or who would like to donate beers to be poured (don't need whole kegs and bottles are OK, too!)
We'd like to make a good showing for our brewing buddies in the QC to help them kickstart their event. Plus, we get to pimp our event and hopefully recruit some other clubs to participate.
