2015 Beer Nuts Brew Festival

Post by czubak »

Getting this posted here for people not on FB to share. Get to brewing, we want as much beer there as possible. This is our one time a year to really shine.

The 4th annual Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts Homebrew Festival is set for August 29th at Benz Beverage Depot once more. Bigger and better than last year, we have the whole street to use as we please!
Tickets are $20 in advance/ $25 at the door and include glassware and beer tastings from clubs both in and out of state, food vending will be once again via Báta's and Chicken Waffle will be our musical entertainment.
You can see a list of beers being poured with our web app, found here: https://crbeernuts.herokuapp.com/ they will appear a month out from the fest, so very soon.

Ticketing is online via the below link or paper tickets will be on sale at Benz Beverage Depot.

A portion of proceeds will benefit Pints for Prostates.

We hope to see you, your friends, your family, and random people you drag with you there!

Online ticket sales (also for sale at Benz)

Reminder to get your beers posted so we know what we are dealing with. There are only 26 beers listed by only 9 brewers. We need more beer and we need to know what is being brought so we can make up a tap list and labels.

Also, I have had people thinking about coming say, "You only have 26 beers?" Customer perception is that is kind of weak and they don't want to pay $20 for just 26 beers. I tell them there will be a lot more but seeing is believing.

I spoke to the Beverage Manager at the Oakland Rd HyVee (Brian) and they will put up posters for us. I didn't have any at the time. So, if anyone with a couple of posters could run by there and them drop off at the desk/checkout in the Beverage Dept., that would be great.

Yeah that's why I brought this up again. Had a neighborhood Sunday Funday and was being asked about the fest and I go to show them the beer list and got a "that's it, 5 of them are yours" kinda look

Thanks Tony, I will bring that up tonight at a cabinet meeting and drop off a couple on my lunch break tomorrow.

So, my amberish Rye Saison seems to be okay, a little green still but should be fine by the 29th. I am going to likely be busy that day. Can I just drop off a case or a case of it to someone prior? I had hoped to have more ready, but it's been a busy summer...

I'll pound back another one tonight to verify that its okay and enter the details tomorrow on the site...

Remember to sign up your beers in the next 24 hours. We will be pulling the list tomorrow AM to assign beer locations and times (which is necessary to ensure we don't have 14 stouts on tap at a given time!) and make cards for the beers.

FYI count is up to 57 from the beernuts; 80 from all clubs combined.
