New Club Faucets?

I know there has been some talk of getting flow control faucets for the club. They are on sale from More Beer right now for $49.99 each.

Would there be a benefit to these over cobra taps at a fraction of the price?

Warm beer in the line, maybe?

I think cobras work fine. Just use the proper amount of beer line and no worries.

Instant on the fly adjustability for any carbonation and pressure level.
not saying they are a must-have, but mine is really handy for serving those beers where the head just won't die

I wonder if we wouldn't get fewer foamy pours with these.

Not sure we need to replace ALL our taps with these, but having 2 or 3 on the bar and jockey boxes might be enough?

Making sure the beer is remaining cold, I think, should be a focus as well!

That's my strategy at home. 1 (eventually 2) flow-control, 4 regular perlicks, works well once I know how my beers pour.

Having a minimal number of FC taps would benefit from people specifically labeling their kegs as 'difficult pours' ahead of time. Random tap-switching at serving time is a PITA, but still doable.

Flow Controls are only useful when you have a system that's setup for say 2.4 volumes of CO2 and your pouring a beer that is say.. 3 volumes of CO2. In order to maintain that 3 Volumes of CO2 you have to raise the pressure to the appropriate pressure. Well when you have your system thats setup for 2.4 Volumes, you need more restriction to pour that higher volume beer. Otherwise it'll come out like a racehorse and pour like complete doo doo. Otherwise I don't see much of a point to getting them if your using it simply as a band-aid to a temperature problem. I think some large tubs with ice to store the kegs on deck in would be a much better solution, since temperature is the #1 cause of foamy beer.

Also, I have said Perlick flow control faucet if anyone wants to borrow it and play with it.
