InBev at it again

Post by Matt F »

Basically InBev is forcing their distributors to carry less craft beer and paying substantial bonuses for doing so. Somehow this is a legal practice.

This may be setting the stage for a 'craft beer distributor' type of business model. Or just another revenue for the wine distributors...

I was thinking same. People want craft beer. Someone will get it to the people.

I don't see that happening around here.

It is amazing that this is legal. It might not go well for them in the end though if people learn more about it.

Isn't avoiding undue influencing like this basically why they set up the 3-tier system in the first place?

I had similar thoughts. If they abuse the system it may bring some changes. The craft brew industry is smaller, but small groups tend to have a big voice from time to time when the right talking heads are in a position to do something.
