8 Rooms Reserved At the Best Western East Towne

Post by daryl »

UPDATE

We have 8-rooms; soon I will be providing instructions to you so that you can reserve on of these rooms for this trip.

They will be held until Saturday, May 14th; after that, they go back into the pool of available rooms and likely at a different rate.

Our rate is $89 (this does not include local taxes/fees).

There is one room for each of the following couples:
Brian Hall-2
Tim Sines - 2
Daryl and Marilyn McCall - 2
Holli and Eric Benda - 2

There is one room requested by Randy Carris.

The remaining 3 rooms are assigned to the following:
Matt Franklin/Dan White
Cal Corrin/Tom Tapp
Jim Potts/Andrew Konigsmark

Get with your roommate and discuss who will reserve the room, how you will split the costs, and who gets the Queen and who get the fold-out bed.

If you want other arrangements, or your own room, please PM me ASAP - so I can try to get additional accommodations.

WE NEED YOU TO COMMIT BY MAY 14TH. If you have decided you cannot make it, please PM me ASAP so we can adjust our arrangements as needed.

We have one person on our waiting list - Hunter Hills has expressed an interest in going.

Soon, I will send to you all, the information as to how to reserve your room.

PM me if you have questions or require more information.

I just found out that my nephew is getting married that weekend. It was a tough call between a beer road trip and going to a wedding and reception and seeing a lot of my relatives I haven't seen in years. The road trip barely lost out and the person on the waiting list can go in my place.

I deserve to be committed, whether w/ roommate or no.

I'm not sure what the next step is. Do we need to contact the hotel ourselves and give them a CC#, or is the club going to do it and we reimburse?

Looking back on my earlier post, I can see I was not very clear, specifically what I meant by "WE NEED YOU TO COMMIT BY MAY 14TH." and I will expand on that here.

Rooms not booked by May 14th will be released and made available to the general public. Today, I will send by Private Message, the instructions on how to reserve a room from the Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts block of rooms.

An then:

If you are in the Carris, Hall, Sines, Bender, or McCall party, you need to contact the hotel and reserve your room by May 14th.

Everyone else - contact your roommate and coordinate who will reserve the room, how you will split the costs, who gets the pull-out bed, etc.. Whomever is responsible for the room, contact the hotel and reserve your room by May 14th.

TOM - I think Hunter is not on the forum, so I will see if one of the Cabinet members has his contact information to confirm that he is going, and if so, get your contact info to each other so you can coordinate.

I hope this clears up things a bit...I will send out the reservation info today.

Just a reminder, including today, you have three more days to book your room for the Madison Road trip.

After Saturday, the rooms held for the CR Beer Nuts that have not been reserved will be released to the general population.

Here is the updated manifest for the Madison trip:

There is one room for each of the following couples:
Brian Hall-2
Tim Sines - 2
Daryl and Marilyn McCall - 2
Holli and Eric Benda - 2

There is one room requested by Randy Carris.

The remaining 3 rooms are assigned to the following:
Dan White/Tom Tapp
Jim Potts/Andrew Konigsmark

At this point we have one spare room; and 13 going on the trip.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE

Post by daryl »

At this time, we do not have a 15-passenger van; and we are preparing to take two vehicles.

I can sit a total of 7 in our Volvo XC-90. We can manage the three in the middle seats by selecting more slender frames to sit there; and the two in the third row should be shorter in stature.

But we will need another vehicle. Can anyone provide a second vehicle...like a 7-passenger mini van?

Thanks,
Daryl

If someone wants to watch a toddler and preschooler for the weekend, I'd bring a minivan and drive ;)

The owner has not committed so we are going to have plan B. Dan and I can drive. We'll rent a minivan if we have to.

I'll keep pinging Enterprise to see if the 15-passenger Fords become available.

It's all good.
