We have some options for hotels.

Hotels.....
We can stay downtown, rooms will run on the order of $150 /night and may not include taxes.
We can stay out out town, and get rooms at nearly half the price, but they are not downtown...and you spend valuable time riding in a cab/uber.

Thoughts?

For the extra $75 bucks, I would rather stay downtown.

I should line up rooms very soon.

We have a place to stay in Johnston (in-laws), so we won't need a room

The hotel right across the parking lot from El Bait Shop is where I usually stay. Close to the action.

So far, we have twelve, with tentative guests for Josh and Tony...which would put us at 14.

I will edit this post, to keep a running head count. Please chime in if you would like to tag along.
My tentative guest is out, so it'll just be me

Here is the list....twelve confirmed, maybe thirteen.

I may withdrawing (I will be in Ames the entire weekend before), and if that is the case, someone will need to take point on the van rental....or, we use personal vehicles and the club compensates for gas and parking.

I will have the hotel reservations set and posted soon....looking to get booked at the hotel across from El Bait Shoppe - these rooms are running about $150 per room.

Andrew K.
Tony B.
Karl
Chris Z.
Shane
Tyler Gunderson

11 Total as of 11/9/2016
9 Total as of 11/11/2016
6 Total as of 11/13/2016

I will update this post, with the latest information with regard to hotel, travel, and attendee list.

Looks like it will just be me. Spoke to Joe last night. He had the wrong weekend on his calendar originally and has a conflict on the 19th.

The cost of these rooms will be about $155.68 - that includes the VAT tax but not the sales tax.

Hampton Inn & Suites Des Moines Downtown, 120 South West Water Street, Des Moines, IA 50309

Four rooms with two queen beds and two rooms with a king for the Sines and Bendas.

Andrew, Josh, Tony, Karl, Shane and Tyler will be rooming together in twos....how you pair up does not matter to me.

Are these terms acceptable?

The fix is in for the rooms. I have reserved 6 rooms for 12 attendees. At this point, I am off the list.

Any single member bowing out will either result in one person paying for the cost of a room by themselves, unless three guys want to triple up.

All 6 rooms are double Queens....no guarantee of a couch or pull out couch....and fitting a rollway in the room may be a challenge. $139 per night (not including VAT and sales taxes).

Cancellations after Monday, October 15th may result in having to pay for all or 1/2 the cost of a hotel room.

Guys rooming together need to figure our how to split the cost of the room.

So rooms are in order.

Now we need to address transportation.

If we rent a van....we will need a designated driver....no beer consumption on the trip out, until the van is parked for the night....and no beer on the return trip on Sunday.

Also, I need someone going on the trip, to rent the van...I'll find one for you, but someone on the trip needs to be on the bill and have the insurance. The Club will reimburse (and may be able to pay ahead the rental fee) the cost of gas and rental.

Any volunteers?
