Overseas

Post by DJANS »

I'm heading overseas for a week in February and was wondering if anyone else has traveled overseas and how you can bring beer back

I've brought beer back in my checked baggage. I claimed it on my customs form. It didn't generate any interest so no problems.

Jim where was that from? I'm heading to Amsterdam for a week and might make a day trip into Germany and Belgium

Coming back from Amsterdam, expect your bags to be searched.

It's been ten years since I came home by way of Amsterdam. I don't remember anything beyond the drug sniffing dogs at baggage claim.

Regardless of what the handlers will tell you, the dogs will alert on 4 kilos of fine belgian chocolates.

did they have to "sample" 8) the chocolate to verify that it contained no drugs beyond theobromine?

This is American in 2016. No need to bring anything illegal back from Amsterdam.

I brought some liquor from central America with no issues. Just make sure to declare (double check the quantities allowed) and pack it good.
I also try to seal it in freezer bags or similar if it were to break.
