Re: January meeting
Meeting will be Thursday, January 19th, at Bricks Bar in downtown Cedar Rapids. Upstairs I believe is where we typically meet.

Well this is unacceptable, since I cannot make it. I am zoltar, who drinks an unacceptable amount and makes irrational demands.

Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts
General Meeting Agenda
2017 January 19
Old Business
Dues for 2017 is $20 plus an optional $17.50 for subscription to “Brew Your Own” magazine. Payments may be made either through Square or by cash or check at general meetings. Contact treasurer Dan White for further information.
Club Competitions:
January: style 11A Ordinary Bitter
February: “Bunged” Breakfast Cereal Beer (corrected)
April: style 24A Belgian Wit
July: style 20C Imperial Stout
October: 6A Marzen
Member-sponsored competitions: Pat McCusker is sponsoring “Mad McCusker’s Mead Melee” including putting up a prize of one gallon (about 11.5 lbs) of excellent Basswood honey. Turn-in is approximately one year from now. You need aging time so get busy!
Other competitions:
SheBrew competition is being advertised through Facebook. More details to follow later.
National Homebrew Competition: finals will be at the National Homebrew Convention this summer. But, there is a preliminary round of judging with an earlier turn in date. Registration for the competition is soon. If interested, see the NHC website for registration details and due dates.
Benz Festival 2017 will likely be on the first or second Saturday in May. This year we agreed that setting up two bars with a total of 18 taps would allow for shorter serving lines and keeping beers on tap longer. We want to make a good showing at this again this year. Consider this a call to provide beer for this event.
National Homebrew Convention: individual attendee registration details are typically posted “mid-winter.” This means quite soon. Be watching the NHC website for registration details and hotel bookings.
New Business
First technical meeting will be February 1st. Topic will be New England IPA. Location is pending but will likely be Matt Franklin’s home.
The cabinet agreed that, pending agreement from Lionbridge Brewing, the Beer Nuts Happy Hour beer pourings will occur on the last Sunday of the month for January through October. The February event will feature beers from the "Bunged" competition. Brewers of "Bunged" entries are invited (and heartily encouraged) to provide some of their "Cereal Killer" beer for this event. Promotion of this event will continue through the Facebook medium.

From Daryl's original post:March: “Bunged” Breakfast Cereal Beer
Turn in will be at or before the February Club Meeting; judging will occur soon after submission and prior to the pour event.
On February 26th, the Cereal Killers pour event will be held in conjunction with the CR Beer Nut Happy Hour, the general public will be allowed to vote for their favorite brew. To support that event, you must bring or provide at least a half gallon of your brew to share with the public.

Re: January meeting
I have a child in dance class until 7:30 on Thursdays on the West Side of CR. I drive her home and then get twins to bed so I will typically not be there until a little after 8. I will start the meeting, meeting shortly after I arrive.

Re: January meeting
Damn. I'll be a Zoltar too tomorrow. Hey, when any of you guys find out info about the NHC, could someone post it here, and on the "Secret" Facebook group? I'm going to try to go.
