Post by jjbuck »

I'm looking for a tried and true recipe for a trippel. Anybody know one?

I don't have it written down, but the Jamil Show is a good source for all beers styles. His podcasts are on the Brewing Network. They goof around a lot but once you sift through there is some good information and they will give a recipe.

Jamil Show is good stuff. Here's the link to his trippel style show.

Yeah, I like the Jamil Show. I am going to write in to them to see if they can clone Fatty Boombalatty.

Sampled my attempt last night. It's tasty, we'll see how it is in a couple weeks. Momma liked it.

Steeping Aromatic malt

Post by jjbuck »

The recipe for triple directs me to steep the .25 lb of aromatic malt
I don't know if that is the same as mashing, or if its like steeping tea, then in how much and how hot water. Anyone have experience with this?

Are you sure he said to steep it? I listen to his show and he gives directions for both extract and all grain. Usually, on the all grain versions you mash everything.

The only difference in the steep Vs. Mash is that you will not extract as much sugars on steeping.
