Roughrider hockey game

Post by brownbeard »

I am planning a pregame party for the Roughrider home opener on Oct. 17th. I will provide food and a couple kegs of homebrew. I will also get a block of tickets for the game. I am inviting anyone who wants to come. This is an adults party, there will not be any kids there. Wives are welcome, mine will be there. The game will begin at 7. The party will start a few hours before that.

I would like to get an idea of how many people are coming, so if you would like to come, try and give me a little advanced notice. That way I can make sure we have enough tickets and food.

I'd like to go, probably the ole lady too. I'll have to see about adjusting my parental responsibility that night though

I should have mentioned tickets are $11. They will be green zone seats. Club member Dave Rhinehart and I are both opening a couple of imperial stouts to sample during the party, if anyone would like to add something to the mix.

Matt sounds like you are putting other activities before drinking beer. sounds like you need to get your PRIORITIES straight!

Do you honestly think I won't be drinking at the Halloween/Birthday Party? It is a family event which means my cousins, uncles, aunts and myself will be enjoying much more than candy. I just hope I have enough beer. This isn't a kids birthday.

John and I would like to attend, as we are planning on going to the game. However, we have some friends (3) going to the hockey game with us - so would it be OK to bring them to the party? I should mention that one of them is coming in from Chicago and I am twisting his arm into bringing lots of yummy Goose Islands that we can't get here (Sofie, Juliet (?), Red Felt, Demolition, and Naughty Goose). The other two people are confirmed Miller Lite drinkers, who will BYO, as I wouldn't expect that to be on the beer menu at a soiree (I am assuming this is a soiree, as you only go to those! )

BTW - you didn't say - is this a tailgater at the Stable or is this at your place?

It will be at my place. I will always have a case of PBR at a party. But there won't be more than that. Right now it looks like I will be serving Oktoberfest, Cappuccino stout, and Imperial Wit. Food will be either pulled pork or brisket.

If there are still tickets left, I would like 2 please. I'm sure I can dig up something good to bring beer wise. Can we bring any food?

Such a soiree needs a Bacon Explosion, so I will bring one (maybe two). Question is BB, should I smoke it myself beforehand or bring it along uncooked and smoke it there? Or some strange combo of "half baked"?
