Small Scale Group Buy - Whole Leaf Hops - Centennial and CTZ

Post by daryl »

I have a recipe that I want to brew, that uses whole leaf Centennial and CTZ hops.

I can find them, but only in 1 lb packages.

Would anyone be interested in buying ounces of Centennial or CTZ (which may be Columbus, Tomahawk, or Zeus)...on a per ounce basis, I think the cost would be very very competitive.

Post here, with how many ounces you would be interested in buying.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale

Check out www.yakimavalleyhops.com, this is where I buy all my hops, great quality, etc etc. I just checked and they have both centennial and ctz cones in 8 oz packages.

Thanks Josh. I found these guys last night, and their hops, and I was wondering how good these guys were.

Nice to know I can order with confidence.

I think I will go with these guys, and also pickup some Saaz.

Do you use whole hops very much?

Thanks -D

I will second Josh's view, Yakima Valley is great. I also use Puterbaugh Farms http://www.hopsdirect.com/ and really like them too.

I typically do not use whole cones. I just prefer the compact nature of pellets, and it seems there are many more varieties available to the home brewer in pellet form. When I do use cones, I make sure to use a hop screen/hop spider, because they will immediately clog a pump impeller. I learned that the hard way.
