National Engineer's Week

Post by daryl »

Happy National Engineer's Week everybody (OK, geek week).

And a special congratulations to one of our fellow brewers, Dr. Lee Paulson, a newly minted (one of only three) 2016 Rockwell Collins Corporate Engineer of the Year.

As announced within the Company....Paulsen is a recognized expert in the Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) domain and led the development of affordable ESA technology for Rockwell Collins. ESAs enable fast, accurate tracking capabilities for objects such as satellites and enable next-generation high throughput connectivity. His contributions helped enable Rockwell Collins to compete with larger ESA providers, but at a much lower price point – thus allowing the company to pursue new opportunities in both the commercial and defense markets. Paulsen has been with the company for 13 years.

Congrats Lee, well done, and well deserved!

So my friends, when the shit hits the fan, my advice to you is.....

Glad to see you get recognition we all know you deserve. Bet you have to fight off the groupies with a stick now every time you walk in the door of the Rock.

That reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw in town that said, "Cedar Rapids...Sex, Drugs and Rockwell Collins."

"Groupies" are incompatible with Engineering culture. At best I'll face less overt cynicism for a month or two, but I'll take it.
