Wort Rally 2017 - Information

Post by daryl »

I visited with Quinton, Ana, and Alec this afternoon and the wort rally is on!

The wort will be an unhopped, pared-down version of Yard Sale wort.

Vessel drop off will be Thursday, May 4th; wort pickup will be Friday, May 5th. Alec is going to try to get the pickup time beginning at 3 PM this year, more details as the date gets closer.

Price and volume: $30 for 10 gallons.

There will be a hard cut-off date, to be determined. And all fees will be collected through the club.

That is all to share at this point....should be more information to share at the March Meeting....but pencil in the dates...and begin thinking about your recipes.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale
In the keg: Wheat Beer, Russian Imperial Stout
In the bucket:
In the queue: Irish Red, American IPA

Early pickup meaning, earlier in the day.

We did lose a week, but that's when Alec will be available to work with Quinton to crank out the wort.

We will be tasting at the June 25th Happy Hour, if we do a turn in at the Club Meeting, that's about a six week turn.

But that's a ways out, and we might change things up on the judging....we'll have more details at the March meeting.

You buy 10 gallons of wort for $30. Extract is already done for you. Boil, add hops and ferment however you see fit. If you don't have a big enough brew kettle you could split in to multiple batches so can do a boil.

I'm in.

I'm interested in splitting a 10 gal batch with someone. So, if you don't want to do the whole 10 gals yourself, holler at me!
